'e-Lawyer' era begins in prisons
With the "e-Lawyer" system launched by the Ministry of Justice, convicts and detainees will be able to meet with their lawyers online from prison.
The Ministry of Justice is implementing a new practice to strengthen communication between inmates and their lawyers.
With the application called "e-Lawyer," convicts and detainees in prison will now be able to meet with their lawyers via video link without the need for face-to-face meetings.
According to ministry officials, each meeting a prisoner has with their lawyer under the system will be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes and can be used at most twice a week. This new regulation is expected to provide convenience in prison meeting procedures and allow for faster management of current legal processes.
Gürlek emphasized that the digital transformation process is continuing uninterrupted and stated that the "e-Lawyer" application will be activated in all prisons in a short time.
