Fine imposed on CHP deputy's driver

On April 23, CHP Ankara Deputy Adnan Beker and his driver, İrfan Aşılıoğlu, who wanted to go to the front of the 1st Parliament to attend the celebration program organized by the CHP, were stopped on Talatpaşa Boulevard because the road was closed. During this time, it was alleged that Aşılıoğlu drove his vehicle toward police officer Ayhan A.

Following the incident, an investigation was launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office upon the complaint of the police officer. İrfan Aşılıoğlu was detained on April 24 and released under judicial control conditions.

COURT DECISION AND SENTENCE

In the case heard at the Ankara 27th Criminal Court of First Instance, Aşılıoğlu was tried on charges of "resisting to prevent the performance of duty." The defendant stated that he did not accept the accusations and requested his acquittal. However, the court applied a good conduct reduction to the defendant and sentenced him to 6 months and 7 days in prison. This sentence was converted into a judicial fine of 18 thousand 700 Turkish Lira.
