Hotel officials referred to courthouse following tragic death of Böcek family

The investigation into the Böcek family, who were staying at a hotel in Fatih, Istanbul, and died after being suspiciously poisoned, is deepening. With the death of the father, Servet Böcek, the last member of the four-person family who had arrived from Germany, on the evening of November 17, no one from the family remains.

Within the scope of the investigation, mussel seller Y.D., Turkish delight seller F.T., kokoreç seller E.E., and cafe operator F.M.O., who were previously detained, had been arrested. Now, a total of 7 people, including the hotel owner and staff, as well as the owner and employees of the company that performed pest control at the hotel, are being referred to the courthouse. The detention periods for these individuals were not extended.

DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION

In the investigation launched following the incident, a total of 11 people were detained in recent days. While 4 of these individuals were arrested, the investigation has entered a new phase with the referral of the other 7 people to the courthouse. Authorities are continuing their efforts to clarify all aspects of the incident.
