HSK decision in the Official Gazette: A new era in commercial lawsuits!
With the HSK decision published in the Official Gazette, commercial courts in Istanbul have been consolidated under a single roof; their jurisdiction has been reorganized to cover the entire province.
By decision of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK), the Bakırköy, Istanbul Anatolian, and Küçükçekmece Civil Courts of Commerce in Istanbul have been closed and merged under the Istanbul Civil Courts of Commerce. Under the new regulation, the judicial district of the commercial courts has been designated as "all of Istanbul."
The decision published in the Official Gazette stated that the judicial districts of the courts in question have been removed from the boundaries of their respective high criminal courts, and the jurisdiction of the Istanbul Civil Courts of Commerce has been redefined as the administrative boundaries of the province of Istanbul.
On the other hand, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek had announced in a television program he attended recently that all commercial courts in Istanbul would be gathered in a single center. Gürlek had stated that the courts would serve within a complex to be established at the financial center.
