Interim ruling in the Ankara train station massacre case
In the October 10 Ankara Train Station Massacre case, it has been decided to launch an investigation into the status of police officers at the Gaziantep Security Directorate. The hearing has been adjourned until June 20.
The trial regarding the terrorist attack targeting the "Labor, Peace and Democracy" rally held in Ankara on October 10, 2015, continues for the fugitive defendants.
Last week, following a decision by the Gaziantep Regional Administrative Court, the decision to deny authorization for an investigation into Gaziantep Security Directorate personnel was overturned. This development paved the way for investigations to be opened against public officials.
In today's hearing, the court panel announced its interim ruling. Accordingly, information will be obtained regarding the status of the police officers at the Gaziantep Security Directorate, and the next hearing will be held on June 20.
BACKGROUND OF THE MASSACRE
Two suicide bomb attacks targeting the rally held in front of the Ankara Train Station on October 10, 2015, resulted in the deaths of 103 people and left hundreds injured. This attack, which was claimed by ISIS, went down in history as the bloodiest terrorist attack in the history of Turkey.
