Izmir Prosecutor's Office appeals the release of Ömer Eşki: Arrest warrant requested

The Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has appealed the release of Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki and three other individuals. The prosecution has requested that an arrest warrant be issued for the detention of the suspects.

PROSECUTION FILES APPEAL

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, who was detained as part of an investigation into the Bornova Municipality, was released yesterday by the duty magistrate despite a request for his arrest.

However, following the release of the suspects, the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested an arrest warrant and appealed the release decision.

PROSECUTION HAD REQUESTED ARREST YESTERDAY AS WELL

Ömer Eşki and three other individuals were detained as part of an investigation based on allegations that Aslıhan A., who was hired at the Izmir Bornova Municipality and linked to Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, was receiving a salary but never actually went to work.

A request for arrest had been filed for the 4 individuals brought before the duty court yesterday evening; however, the court released three of the suspects, excluding Aslıhan A., and decided to impose a travel ban on Aslıhan A.
