New details in the incident that has gripped Turkey... The 'fumigation' puzzle

The Böcek family, who came to Istanbul from Germany for a vacation, were hospitalized on suspicion of food poisoning. 6-year-old Kadir Muhammet and 3-year-old Masal Böcek from the family lost their lives, while mother Çiğdem Böcek also passed away in the intensive care unit. The condition of the father, Servet Böcek, remains critical.

It was learned that the family arrived in Istanbul on November 9 and ate stuffed mussels from a street vendor in Ortaköy on November 11. Additionally, they had consumed chicken tantuni, baked potatoes (kumpir), and sausage at a restaurant. It has not yet been determined which food caused the poisoning.

FUMIGATION AT THE HOTEL AND DETENTIONS

It was revealed that fumigation was carried out at the hotel where the family was staying on November 11. While this situation is being linked to the poisoning case, 7 people, including the owner and employees of the fumigation company, have been detained. Hotel official Orhan Oğlak stated that the hotel only provides bottled water and that they did not offer any other refreshments.

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

The Murder Bureau is continuing its investigation into the incident. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that toxicological examinations regarding the poisoning case are ongoing. While it was stated that the health condition of other tourists is good, some items from the hotel have been taken for examination.

In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that the family ate at various places after arriving in Istanbul and applied to the hospital on November 12 with complaints of nausea. Regarding the incident, the fumigation process at the hotel and samples taken from the places where the family ate are being examined. Additionally, the owner of the business named Sebil Kafe has also been detained.

This tragic incident that occurred at the hotel in Fatih has drawn the attention of health and security units, and the results of the investigation are being awaited with curiosity.
