New indictment filed in Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi murder case

A significant development has occurred in the case of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life following a knife attack in Kadıköy. The Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that M.A.D and A.Ö acted in concert with the defendants regarding the incident and has filed an indictment against these two individuals.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested that this file be merged with the ongoing trial at the Anatolian 2nd Juvenile High Criminal Court.

Rezan Epözdemir, the lawyer for the Minguzzi family, stated in his announcement that as a result of the examination of security camera footage from the scene, it was determined that the defendants B.D and U.B were not alone. Epözdemir said, "It has been determined that M.A.D and A.Ö were present with the defendants and acted in concert during the murder." He further stated that the knife used in the murder was purchased from a market by M.A.D shortly before the incident.

NEW ARRESTS AND INDICTMENT

Lawyer Epözdemir recalled that they filed a criminal complaint against M.A.D and A.Ö on May 1, 2025, and that these individuals were arrested on May 7, 2025. As a result of the investigation completed as of today, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has prepared an indictment against both suspects for the crime of "complicity in the intentional murder of a child."

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested that this new file be merged with the case in which B.D and U.B are being tried. Epözdemir stated, "It is highly probable that the file will be merged at the Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Juvenile High Criminal Court. The trial of the four defendants will continue at the hearing to be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025."

The lawyer emphasized that they will continue their legal struggle to ensure that all perpetrators involved in the murder of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi are held accountable before the law.
