Police officer wounded by his own weapon in Kocaeli
In an incident at a kiosk in Kandıra, police officer D.T. was shot in the leg with his own weapon. Security camera footage revealed the details of the incident.
On the morning of July 26, in the Kandıra district of Kocaeli, police officer D.T., who was sitting at a kiosk in the Sarısu area, took his weapon from his waistband and handed it to O.K., who was at the table.
O.K. took the weapon and shot D.T. in the leg. The wounded police officer was taken to Kocaeli City Hospital by an ambulance called to the scene. Following the incident, O.K., who was learned to be a car dealer, was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.
Security camera recordings revealed how the incident took place.
In the footage, it is seen that D.T. hands his weapon to O.K., after which O.K. shoots D.T. and then returns the weapon. It was noted that O.K. continued to drink his beverage calmly after the incident, while the other person at the table, A.A., bandaged the wounded officer's injury.
It was reported that the health condition of police officer D.T. remains serious and that the bullet struck his artery. O.K., who was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the gendarmerie, was arrested by the court.
