Striking statement in the Gülistan Doku case: New details have come to light
In the investigation into the disappearance of university student Gülistan Doku in Tunceli, the statement given to the prosecutor's office by her former boyfriend, Zeinal Abarakov, has brought new details to light.
The investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku in 2020, which has remained unsolved for a long time, has entered a new phase following the statement given to the prosecutor's office by the detained Zeinal Abarakov.
"I AM AFRAID" MESSAGE
In his statement added to the investigation file, Abarakov stated that Doku had met with him one day before she went missing, but that he later learned she did not spend the night at her dormitory, but rather at a teacher's house. When asked about the "I am afraid" message Doku sent him, he replied: "What I understood from the 'I am afraid' message Gülistan sent me was that she was stuck outside and couldn't make it back to the dormitory. The next day, I learned that Gülistan was at her teacher's house when she sent the message."
On the other hand, touching upon the end of their relationship, Abarakov said, "What I understood from Gülistan's sentence 'time is up for us' was that our relationship had ended. I do not know the reason why Gülistan did not contact me for 15 days and then wanted to contact me on January 4th."
"I THOUGHT SHE MIGHT BE HELD AGAINST HER WILL"
Abarakov also stated that he had no information regarding whether anything had happened to Doku or if she had been subjected to any threats, saying, "I do not know if Gülistan Doku witnessed anything or if she was subjected to threats or blackmail. I do not know if Gülistan Doku threatened anyone. Because I had not heard from Gülistan Doku for a long time, I thought she was being held somewhere against her will. The help I mentioned in my messages was a way to save Gülistan from the situation she was in. By 'saving,' I meant getting married and building a life together."
ALLEGATIONS REGARDING RAPE AND PREGNANCY
In another significant section of the file, Abarakov was asked about his views on allegations of rape and pregnancy. Regarding this, Abarakov noted, "I do not know if Gülistan was raped or if she was pregnant. She did not ask me for help on this matter, nor did she make the slightest hint about it. If she had, I would have definitely stood by Gülistan and helped her. If something had happened to Gülistan, or if I had known about it, I would have definitely stood by her and helped her."
PHONE RECORDS IN THE FILE
According to the phone records in the investigation file, it was determined that Gülistan Doku had called and messaged Zeinal Abarakov numerous times one day before she went missing.
While the disappearance remains a mystery, it is being followed with curiosity whether the course of the case will change with the prosecutor's investigation and the new documents.
