67-year-old Musa Çiçekçioğlu, who lives in the Ahlat district of Bitlis, has transformed his 2-story house into a museum with objects he collected from his immediate surroundings and well-known figures of Ahlat, as well as items inherited from his parents, due to his interest in history and antique objects.

To keep the memories of his parents alive, Musa Çiçekçioğlu specially displayed the items left behind by them in his home. He further developed this hobby by collecting antiques, photographs, and items used by well-known figures who served in various fields in Ahlat and have since passed away, turning his house into a museum.

The museum-home, which Çiçekçioğlu created with special items from his parents and antiques collected from his surroundings and relatives, is receiving great interest from the district's residents.

Musa Çiçekçioğlu stated that he started this endeavor due to his curiosity about history and culture.

'I HAVE A CURIOSITY FOR HISTORY AND ART'

Çiçekçioğlu said, “There are qualities that make a person human. For example, our emotions. Our emotions make us more sensitive, more devoted, and more humane. The belongings of my mother, father, and elders made me sensitive. I already had a curiosity for culture, history, and art.

I turned the first floor of the 2-story house I inherited from my father in the Erkizan neighborhood into a museum, and on the second floor, I displayed the items belonging to my father and mother. This moved me even more and allowed me to dedicate more time here. In other words, seeing these items gives us a certain culture and knowledge about how the generations before us lived, how they sheltered, how they produced, and under what conditions they were nourished. This makes me happy.”
