Burcu Güneş files 250 thousand lira lawsuit against İrem Derici

A new one has been added to the polemics that frequently come to the agenda in the magazine world. The argument that started between successful singers Burcu Güneş and İrem Derici flared up after Emre Altuğ's album launch night. In the incident, which grew with mutual statements following the tension experienced at the launch, Burcu Güneş filed a lawsuit against Derici due to her social media posts directed at her.

While the expressions Burcu Güneş used about Demet Akalın on the launch night created a serious debate in the music world, many names, especially İrem Derici, supported Akalın. Following this, Derici's criticisms and harsh words towards Güneş on social media caused the events to be taken to court.

In the petition she submitted to the court, Burcu Güneş stated that İrem Derici's expressions constituted severe insults against her. Stating that her personal rights were seriously damaged, Güneş's demand for non-pecuniary damages was stated as 250 thousand TL.

The tension continued with mutual accusations on social media. Burcu Güneş's words, "Magazine rose İrem Derici, when you are commenting about me somewhere, when you are taking my name in your mouth, first button up your jacket and stand at attention. Then ask for permission. While you were going to school in those adolescent depressions, I was recording albums and taking the stage with the biggest and best musicians in Turkey and the world. You continue on your way in the same lane as the older sisters whose path and music you take as an example, because that is your territory," became a hot topic on social media.

İrem Derici, who made a counter-attack, used the following expressions: "Girl, what happened to you? You've been stagnant for years, you tore yourself apart to enter the place you call 'your territory', as if she recorded an album with Quincy Jones... Look at the statement, I'm not buttoning up, I'm even opening another button. The whole industry knows what kind of psychopath you are. She thinks she is Sezen Aksu! Shut up and sit down, or I will put you in your place three times a day without getting bored. You will get constipated from your ambition. You cockroach, you colorless, odorless, rustling thing!"

Güneş stated that she experienced great sadness after these words and that she resorted to legal means on the grounds that her personal rights were attacked.

İrem Derici, on the other hand, came to the agenda with her words in a statement she made before a stage performance in Cyprus: "There is a more docile İrem now. Swearing has decreased significantly. Papers keep coming to the house saying I insulted someone on social media... I regret it so much, I have no money left. I have three more lawsuits. Unnecessary explosions happen, I react to someone. There is no need, I don't want to be that kind of woman."
