Concert in the capital by Selçuk Balcı, a prominent name in Black Sea music

Music lovers in the capital met on Saturday evening for a special concert featuring prominent Black Sea melodies. Selçuk Balcı, known for his modern interpretations of the kemenche, appeared before the audience on the prestigious stage of CSO Ada Ankara.

ON STAGE WITH AN EXPANDED ORCHESTRA

Performing with this special concept after a long break, Balcı took the stage with an expanded orchestra. In the arrangements, which heavily utilized string instruments and brass wind instruments, the rhythmic and melodic structure of Black Sea music came to the fore.

In the concert, traditional Black Sea melodies were brought together with modern orchestration. In the repertoire, where the kemenche was at the center, the rich sound texture created with orchestral accompaniment drew attention.

During the concert, Selçuk Balcı also provided information about his musical work. Stating that he would accelerate his studio work during the month of February, Balcı said that the recordings for his new tracks are ready.

“I WILL SHOOT THE MUSIC VIDEOS IN THE SPRING”

Expressing that music video shoots are planned for the new songs, Balcı described this process with the following words:

“New tracks are on the way, the recordings are ready, but I am waiting for the snow to melt for the music videos. I will shoot them in the spring so I don't get the criticism of ‘every music video is snowy’ anymore.”
