Father's post about son beating cancer goes viral: Support comes from Sancaktepe Municipality
Samet Demir, whose son beat cancer, shared on his social media account, “Friends, we don't have much of a social circle. My son beat cancer, do you want to fly balloons?” Following this post, which quickly went viral, Sancaktepe Municipality began preparations.
Samet Demir, who lives in Istanbul's Sancaktepe district, announced that his son has beaten cancer.
Sharing on his X account, Demir wrote, "Friends, we don't have much of a social circle. My son beat cancer, he wants to fly balloons. Will you come?"
Demir's post spread quickly on social media. While many people wanted to come together on May 25 to support the child, Sancaktepe Mayor Alper Yeğin also made a post.
In his post on his social media account, addressing Samet Demir and his son who beat cancer, Yeğin stated the following:
“I celebrate your son beating cancer, my brother. I invite you and all our citizens to fly balloons at Sancaktepe Meydan Park on May 25.”

MUNICIPALITY BEGAN PREPARATIONS
Sancaktepe Municipality announced that it has begun the necessary preparations for the event to take place successfully. At the event to be held on May 25, the balloons that the little boy who beat cancer wants will take their journey toward the sky.
