Ferdi Tayfur's inheritance turns out to be twice as much as expected
The inheritance of arabesque music legend Ferdi Tayfur, which has sparked disputes among his family and relatives, has been revealed to have a total value of 6 billion TL.
The fortune of Ferdi Tayfur, who passed away in January, has dominated the agenda following his death. It was announced by his lawyer, Hakan Tamgüç, that the inheritance, initially estimated at 3 billion TL, is actually 6 billion TL.
Ferdi Tayfur's inheritance has been a long-standing topic of discussion due to the disputes he had with his daughter, Tuğçe Tayfur, and the vast fortune he left behind. In addition to assets such as his 87 apartments, plots of land, and an island in Marmaris, it was known that the annual royalty income from his more than 1,000 songs was around 45 million TL.
According to the report by Müge Dağıstanlı, Ferdi Tayfur's inheritance was distributed among various institutions and family members. He bequeathed two of his properties in Istanbul-Fatih and Marmaris to the Darüşşafaka Society, four properties in Bolu to the Turkish Armed Forces, and eight villas in Yalova to LÖSEV. The largest portion of the inheritance was divided among his three children and seven nieces and nephews. His daughter Tuğçe and son Timur were disinherited. Zeliha Turanbayburt, whom Ferdi Tayfur married in 1974, was also among those who received a share of the inheritance.
