Footage of Istiklal Avenue filmed in 1996 shared
Evren Arın, the nephew of director Suha Arın, shared previously unpublished footage of Istiklal Avenue filmed in 1996 on his social media account.
Istiklal Avenue, one of the top tourist destinations in Istanbul, has become a trending topic on social media due to footage from 28 years ago.
Evren Arın, who worked at MTV Film Television between 1994 and 2000, stated in a post on his X account: "How did Istiklal Avenue look 30 years ago, what venues were there, what was the social atmosphere like? There are not many audiovisual records that answer these questions, or they are not shared. Fortunately, we preserved the tapes of a documentary project made in our studio in 1996 in our archive."
