Meteorology issues warning with specific days and times: Lodos and heavy rain are coming

With the effect of the Lodos (southwesterly wind), Istanbul experienced one of its hottest March days. Citizens showed great interest in parks, gardens, and open spaces. Officials from the General Directorate of Meteorology announced that the highest temperature during the day was measured at 26 degrees.

METEOROLOGY PROVIDED A TIMELINE

A warning was also issued regarding a new air current arriving via the Balkans. According to the latest assessments, local heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected in Edirne and Kırklareli after noon on Monday.

The public was urged to be careful and take precautions against negative conditions such as floods, water inundation, lightning, transportation disruptions, local hail, and strong winds during precipitation.

STORM WARNING ISSUED FOR THE COUNTRY

Meteorology also issued a storm warning for a large part of the country. The latest warning is as follows:

*Starting from Monday afternoon, strong winds and short-term storms (50-70 km/h, 80-90 km/h in the highlands of the Eastern Black Sea) from the south and southwest are expected, particularly in the Inner Aegean, Central Anatolia, the Lakes Region, the inner parts of the Central Black Sea, and over time, the highlands of the Eastern Black Sea.

*Caution and precautions should be taken against negative conditions such as transportation disruptions, roof dislodgement, dust blowing in inland areas, and stove and natural gas-related poisoning, which are expected to lose their effect in inland areas after Monday evening and in the Eastern Black Sea on Tuesday morning.
