The veil of mystery is lifting... Güllü had said 'What is that': Her daughter breaks her silence

Gül Tut, known as “Güllü,” one of the beloved names of arabesque music, lost her life on the night of September 26 in the Çınarcık district of Yalova after falling from the window of her apartment on the 6th floor of the building where she lived.

While Güllü’s death deeply shook all of Turkey, the question of whether the artist “fell, jumped, or was pushed” remained on everyone's minds.

Following the incident, Güllü’s balance problems, the slippery floor in the house, and the words heard in the camera recordings became a subject of debate. These developments led to the emergence of various theories in the public eye.

The Homicide Bureau took over the investigation into the artist’s suspicious death. Güllü’s daughter, Tuyan Ülkem, spoke for the first time about the matter, on which she had maintained her silence for a long time.

"MY MOTHER DRANK THREE BOTTLES OF ALCOHOL"

Güllü’s daughter, Tuyan Ülkem, stated in her explanation to Sabah, “That night, only I, my mother, and my friend Sultan were at home. My mother drank three bottles of alcohol. We did not consume alcohol or drugs. The allegations made against us are completely baseless.”

Speaking about the phrase “What the hell is that” in the camera recordings, Ülkem said, “There was no problem between my mother and me. My mother was cheerful. She even joined us laughing, saying 'What the hell is that!' Some people misinterpreted that sentence, but that is just my mother’s fun-loving nature. We were dancing, and my mother joined us.”

"I HEARD A LOUD NOISE, WHEN I TURNED AROUND I COULD NOT SEE MY MOTHER"

Ülkem recounted the night of the incident with these words: “Suddenly I heard a loud noise. When I turned around, I could not see my mother. What hurt us the most was that we could not even grieve for our mother. Social media turned into a lynching ground. Even some artists made statements as if they were my mother’s closest friends, but they neither came to offer condolences nor attended the funeral.”

GÜLLÜ’S FORENSIC MEDICINE REPORT REVEALED

The camera recordings, the balcony, and the point of impact were meticulously examined regarding the incident. In the forensic medicine report prepared as part of the investigation, no traces of foreign DNA were found in the samples taken from Güllü. This strengthened the possibility that no struggle took place before the incident.

Furthermore, Güllü’s son, Tuğberk Yağız Gülter, who was out of town when his mother died, stated in his testimony that there was no hostility between his sister and his mother, and that the allegations circulating on social media were baseless.

FILE IS WITH THE HOMICIDE BUREAU

Following the emerging footage and allegations, the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office transferred the file to the Homicide Bureau.

Among the reasons for transferring the file to the Homicide Bureau were;

Contradictions in the audio recordings and misinformation,

Findings leading to the assessment of a “suspicious death,”

The trauma experienced by her daughter and her statements weakening the possibility of an accident,

Doubts from the close circle that the event was neither a murder nor a simple fall,

The claim that she “fell while dancing to Roman music” being physically impossible,

The possibility of being pulled in the narrow space between the bed and the nightstand,

The low probability of the artist dancing by the window due to her health problems and the platinum in her lower back.

SHE WAS EXPERIENCING LOSS OF BALANCE

Güllü’s manager, Erhan Arı, shared a photo of the artist taken at the hospital in a statement on his social media account, saying, “She had been experiencing a loss of balance for a long time. She had a balance disorder in her brain. We had tests done a week ago and were waiting for the results. I am very sad.”
