Turkish businessman wanted via Interpol Red Notice arrested in Mykonos for violence! He called his wife 'old and ugly'
Businessman Gökhan Seven, who assaulted his wife in Mykonos, has been sentenced to two years in prison in Greece. Seven, who is wanted in Turkey via an Interpol Red Notice, now faces potential extradition.
38-year-old businessman Gökhan Seven, who assaulted his wife on his luxury yacht anchored off the Greek island of Mykonos on the night of June 4, was taken into custody by Greek Coast Guard forces who intervened after hearing screams.
It was learned that Gökhan Seven had inflicted enough violence on his wife, Duygu Seven, to leave her face covered in blood. Seven was sentenced to two years in prison by a local court on the Greek island yesterday. An investigation by the teams revealed that Seven is wanted in Turkey via an Interpol Red Notice for crimes including fraud and defamation.
CAUGHT CHEATING
According to a report by Patronlar Dünyası, while detailing the eventful night, Duygu Seven stated that the violence began after Gökhan Seven was caught messaging other women.
The incident that ignited the situation was the messages the businessman sent to another woman while the couple was having lunch at the luxury Nammos restaurant. When they returned to the boat, the argument that began with his wife's demand for an explanation turned into a violent fight.
Gökhan Seven, who was taken into custody after the incident, received a two-year prison sentence for simple domestic violence. 30 days of his sentence are to be served in prison, while the remainder is suspended for 3 years. Additionally, there is a travel ban imposed by Greek authorities and a mandatory requirement to sign in at a police station once a month. His extradition to Turkey is still under discussion.
DUYGU SEVEN'S TESTIMONY REVEALED
Duygu Seven described what happened in her statement to the Greek Coast Guard teams with the following words:
“We have been married for 8 years and have two children, aged five and 7. On June 4, we came to Mykonos for a five-day family vacation on a yacht. After docking the boat in Platys Gialos bay, we went to Psarrou beach for dinner at the Nammos restaurant in the afternoon.
While we were there, I saw him messaging a girl while a photo of a woman appeared on his mobile phone screen. I told him I saw the messages on his phone, and he hid it immediately.
HE CALLED HIS WIFE 'OLD, UGLY, AND DISGUSTING'
Then he started telling me that I was old, ugly, and disgusting, that he was tired of me, and that he didn't want me anymore. He wanted to provoke me to cover up his own guilt with what he said. Then we went back to the boat; the nanny was playing with the children in the sea. There, he continued to curse and insult me, and he provoked me to continue the fight. He said he could be with other women and that there were many beautiful women who wanted him. Then I said to him: "Why are you with me? Get a divorce."
Then I tried to take the phone from his pocket. I am usually calm and don't get carried away easily, but he provoked me to search him. We pushed each other; I tried to search him, but I couldn't. He hid his phone. A while later, around 9:00 PM, I went down to the kitchen to cook something for the children. Then he came to the kitchen and suddenly punched me in the face and nose. I fell to the floor; my head was hurting, and I saw that my nose was bleeding. The nanny saw the moment he hit me when she came down to the kitchen to get the children's food. Then someone put us on a boat. And we went to the Mykonos Health Center. I don't remember much from that moment because I was in pain, I was dizzy, and I was confused. I am undergoing psychotherapy, and I know how to deal with situations now and that I should be calm. But this time he really provoked me. I think he likes to provoke. After the incident this morning, he sent me a message saying he was sorry and asking which hospital I was at. In the past, he had beaten me two or three times while we were at a casino in Cannes, France. I had submitted a report to the French authorities.
Duygu Seven also stated that her husband has an alcohol problem, saying, "He usually consumes a lot of alcohol every day. When he drinks, he cannot control his anger and violence. He had gone to a psychiatrist before and was given some pills for three years; he was calm and did not cause any problems."
