Volkan Konak has passed away! Sibel Can rushed to the hospital in tears

Volkan Konak fell ill on stage during a concert he was giving in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) announced that singer Volkan Konak, who fell ill on stage during a concert in the city of Iskele, has passed away:

"Artist Volkan Konak, who was admitted to Famagusta State Hospital at 00:17 due to a sudden illness tonight, unfortunately passed away at 00:42 despite all interventions. A detailed statement will be made in writing by the Chief Physician's Office of Famagusta State Hospital."

In a written statement from the Chief Physician's Office of Famagusta State Hospital, it was stated that following reports received around 23:23 yesterday, a 112 emergency health team quickly arrived at the hotel where Volkan Konak was performing, and that the first medical intervention was performed on Konak by doctors present at the venue and subsequently by the 112 team.

The statement noted that Volkan Konak was intubated at the scene and transferred to the hospital, and included the following remarks:

"The artist was admitted to our hospital at 00:17 and was taken to the CPR (Basic Life Support) room without delay. There, an advanced life support procedure was applied for 25 minutes by a team consisting of an anesthesiologist, emergency department physicians, internal medicine specialists, and cardiology specialists. However, no response was received despite all medical interventions. Considering the clinical process he underwent, artist Volkan Konak passed away (was declared deceased) at 00:42 despite all medical efforts, and CPR was terminated."

It was learned that Konak's body would be taken from the Famagusta State Hospital morgue and moved towards noon to the Forensic Medicine Unit located at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in the capital, Nicosia, where an autopsy will be performed.

The body is expected to be sent to Turkey by plane following the autopsy procedures.

Meanwhile, singer Hakan Altun, who arrived at Famagusta State Hospital as soon as he received the news of Konak's passing to obtain information from officials, stated to reporters, "Our pain is great. I wish him God's mercy. It is a great loss. Our condolences to us all."

Sibel Can also rushed to the hospital immediately. The singer, who was captured by cameras as she got out of her car in tears, entered the hospital with quick steps.
