Kim Kardashian to dress NBA players
The NBA and Kim Kardashian's brand Skims have signed a long-term partnership that will make Skims the official underwear partner of the NBA, WNBA, and USA Basketball.
Skims, the underwear brand recently valued at $4 billion, launched its first men's collection last week, starring NBA All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. As part of the deal, Skims will gain increased media visibility across league platforms and through virtual in-arena signage during national NBA and WNBA broadcasts.
According to a statement released on Monday, the two brands plan to collaborate on signature league events, such as the NBA All-Star Weekend and the inaugural in-season tournament in December.
In a statement, Kardashian, co-founder and creative director of SKIMS, said, "I am incredibly proud of SKIMS' partnership with the NBA. Together, SKIMS and the NBA will connect people of all ages through fashion and sports, and I look forward to seeing the partnership evolve."
This deal marks the second partnership announcement made by the NBA this month. Two weeks ago, the league announced a deal with Peloton that allows members who subscribe to NBA League Pass to watch games on their Peloton bikes. Nike became the league's uniform and apparel partner in 2017.
Since its debut in 2019, Skims has drawn attention with a wide range of products, from bodysuits and men's boxers to pajamas and sweatpants.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver highlighted the many new ways both the organization and SKIMS will be able to engage with their respective fans through this significant collaboration.
