OLD CASE BACK ON THE AGENDA

Following the protest in Kadıköy, the violence case between Ozan Güven and his former girlfriend Deniz Bulutsuz, which remained on the agenda for a long time, began to be discussed again.

Deniz Bulutsuz had filed a criminal complaint on June 13, 2020, alleging that Ozan Güven had assaulted her.

Güven, on the other hand, had filed a counter-complaint, arguing that Bulutsuz had attacked him.

COURT DECISION AND APPELLATE PROCESS

The Istanbul 58th Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced Ozan Güven to prison for the crime of "intentional injury" at the end of the trial. The court acquitted the actor of the charges of "insult" and "deprivation of liberty" brought against him.

An acquittal verdict was also issued in the "simple injury" case in which Deniz Bulutsuz was being tried.

Following the decision, Bulutsuz stated, "I won, I am waiting for the day he enters prison," while Güven remarked, "It doesn't even concern me, I am dealing with the court."

Later, the appellate court that reviewed the file upheld the local court's decision, and the prison sentence given to Ozan Güven became final.

Ozan Güven had previously stated in a declaration that he did not accept the accusations and would not apologize.

In his statement, Güven had said, "I didn't even strike a single blow. I am receiving a sentence because a lampshade is considered a weapon. The incident happened while I was forcibly taking the lampshade from her hand so she wouldn't do something ridiculous."

The actor has a finalized 45-day prison sentence within the scope of the violence case.
