Sad news regarding the Brazilian tourist who went missing in Indonesia

Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins, who was hiking on Mount Rinjani on the island of Lombok, Indonesia, fell from a height of 500 meters and became stranded on the rocks. The search and rescue efforts launched following the incident lasted for days due to the challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions. Teams dispatched to the region upon the distress call from Marins' friends faced great difficulty in reaching the young woman.

It was stated that Marins, who tried to survive without food or water for five days, had called out to those around her for help when she first fell. However, the dense fog and rugged terrain in the area slowed down the efforts of the rescue teams. Head of the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency, Muhammad Siyafi, stated, "A rescue worker descended to a depth of 600 meters and reached Marins. Upon examination, it was determined that there were no signs of life."

The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement, "We are deeply saddened to announce that Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins has lost her life after falling from a cliff along a trail near the crater of Mount Rinjani." Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said in a post on his social media account, "Our consular services in Indonesia will continue to provide full support to Marins' family during this painful time."

In an announcement made from an Instagram account opened on behalf of Marins' family, it was stated, "The rescue team reached the location of Juliana Marins today. It is with great sadness that we report she was not alive," and followers were thanked for their messages of support.

It was learned that Juliana Marins had also traveled to Thailand and Vietnam before coming to Indonesia and had shared these memories on her social media account.
