Animal rights advocate and social media influencer Mikayla Raines has died by suicide at the age of 29. Her husband, Ethan Raines, confirmed the tragic news in a video posted to the Save A Fox YouTube channel on June 23, 2025.
Mikayla Raines was known for her work in rescuing foxes and other exotic animals. However, it was known that she had been struggling for a long time with mental health issues, including depression, autism, and borderline personality disorder.

In his 11-minute video statement, Ethan Raines stated that Mikayla had been the target of a long-term cyberbullying campaign on social media.
Raines expressed that his wife faced pressure not only from strangers but also from her personal circle and some individuals within the animal rescue community. 'Baseless rumors were spread about her, and this deeply affected a sensitive person like her. She tried to carry this burden for years, but this time she could not overcome it,' he said. These statements reveal the extent of the difficulties Mikayla was facing.
