Social media influencer lights cigarette on AJet flight

Erkan Toy, known on social media as "Erkan Abi" and boasting over 1 million followers, has made headlines with footage he filmed during a flight. After Toy recorded and shared moments of himself smoking inside the cabin, the airline took action.

While the shared footage spread quickly and sparked public backlash, an official process regarding the incident has been initiated.

LIGHTED A CIGARETTE ON THE PLANE

According to information obtained, Toy lit a cigarette inside the aircraft during an AJet flight and published these moments on his social media account. Under civil aviation regulations, the use of cigarettes and similar tobacco products inside aircraft is strictly prohibited.

The fact that this rule-breaking behavior was recorded and shared caused the incident to reach a wider audience.

BLACKLISTED

Following the spread of the footage, AJet decided to blacklist the passenger in question, barring him from future flights.

On the other hand, according to civil aviation legislation, passengers who use cigarettes or similar products inside an aircraft are subject to an administrative fine of 24,681 TL. It is stated that proceedings may also be initiated against Toy within this scope.
