Some accounts alleged that the master artist had left a "secret will" before his death and that his multi-million lira inheritance would be distributed to 150 people randomly selected from the public. These posts spread rapidly across social media platforms.
The artist's sons, Eser Övet and Çağlan Övet, issued a joint statement regarding the claims to inform the public.
The statement included the following:
"The news about our father's inheritance and will that has appeared on social media over the last few days does not reflect the truth. The intention is to entice people and direct them to a financial platform for manipulation. We request that no credence be given to such news."
