Summer is knocking: Temperatures to rise by 6 degrees

A significant increase in air temperatures is expected across Turkey starting from the middle of the week. According to experts, temperatures will rise 4 to 6 degrees above seasonal norms, making the summer effect felt even more.

Abdullah Macit, a weather forecasting expert at the Turkish State Meteorological Service, provided an assessment of the weather for the coming week. According to Macit's statement, local showers will be seen in the first days of the week.

Thunderstorms are expected on Monday in the interior parts of the Eastern Black Sea region and the north of Eastern Anatolia, and on Tuesday in the west of the Black Sea, the interior parts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, and the surroundings of Erzurum, Kars, and Ağrı.

However, starting Wednesday, precipitation will lose its effect in most of Turkey. Except for the northeast of Eastern Anatolia, clear and slightly cloudy weather will prevail across the country.

Macit said, “We anticipate that temperatures will rise in the Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia in the south on Wednesday, and across the entire country starting Thursday. Air temperatures will rise 4 to 6 degrees above seasonal norms.”

WHAT WILL THE SITUATION BE IN THE 3 MAJOR CITIES?

Ankara: No precipitation is expected throughout the week. With a slightly cloudy sky, temperatures will reach 27-28 degrees starting Wednesday.

Istanbul: A partly and slightly cloudy week is expected. Temperatures are projected to rise to 27 degrees towards the weekend. Summer is really setting in: Temperatures will rise by 4 to 6 degrees

Izmir: Slightly cloudy and clear weather will continue to be effective. Thermometers will show 29-30 degrees.
