Tayfun Kahraman celebrates Hıdrellez by sharing a photo of his daughter

Urban planner Tayfun Kahraman, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison in the Gezi Park trial and is being held in Silivri Prison, shared a message for Hıdrellez.

In his message, Kahraman said, “Let the name of this spring be hope. May the beautiful wishes of our children with pure hearts, especially my dear daughter Vera, come true.”

The message shared on Tayfun Kahraman’s social media account X is as follows:

"Even though I do not have a rose tree to hang my wish on; I hope that on this day when Khidr, who reaches those in distress, and Ilyas, the master of the seas, meet, all our prayers are accepted and our wishes come true.

Above all, I wish for abundance at our tables, and for us to live peacefully, safely, and happily with our families in sturdy homes. I wish for strength for all of us in difficult times, urgent healing for our sick, and fortitude for the families of martyrs who suffer the pain of losing a child. I wish for an end to the oppression experienced by the innocent people of Gaza, and for the climate of peace and love that humanity has begun to forget to prevail throughout the world as soon as possible.

Let the name of this spring be hope. May the beautiful wishes of our children with pure hearts, especially my dear daughter Vera, come true."
