Up to 10 years in prison sought for Ferdi Tayfur's son-in-law

In an enforcement proceeding that came to light in Istanbul last year, a citizen named Necmettin D. realized that the signature on the promissory note did not belong to him after receiving information about the proceedings initiated against him. Necmettin D. filed a complaint with judicial authorities regarding the document, which he claimed was prepared without his knowledge.

According to a report by Sabah, following this development, an indictment was prepared against Muhammet Aydın for "forgery of official documents" and "fraud by using public institutions and organizations as a tool" within the scope of the investigation. The prosecutor's office requested that Aydın be sentenced to a total of up to 10 years in prison for the aforementioned crimes.

Muhammet Aydın, in his statement during the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office, denied the accusations against him. In his defense, he claimed that he had transferred an existing business to the complainant, received a check in return, and initiated legal proceedings after the payments were not made. Furthermore, he argued that he suffered losses because the rent payments for the business were delayed and the contract was in his name.

A report prepared by an expert witness changed the course of the investigation. The report clearly stated that the signature and handwriting on the promissory note did not belong to the victim, Necmettin D. In the indictment prepared in line with these findings, it was stated that Muhammet Aydın is accused of forgery of official documents and fraud.

Finally, it was stated that the case file will be heard by the court in the coming days.
