The death of 3 people due to hantavirus on the passenger ship MV Hondius, which carried more than 150 people from 23 countries, caused a major stir. It was revealed that YouTuber Ruhi Çenet was also on the ship, which was sailing from Argentina toward Cabo Verde in West Africa.

Çenet, who explained that he was on the ship to film a documentary, had announced that he left the ship on the 24th day of the voyage. The content creator, who has 18 million followers on YouTube, stated in a post regarding his health, "Thanks to those who are worried and asking about me; I got off very lightly, but my mind is still there. I have had the necessary blood tests done," he had said.

Based on a photo shared on social media, it was claimed that Çenet attended a wedding before entering quarantine. Following the growing backlash, the famous YouTuber made a new statement on his social media account.

"I STILL DO NOT SHOW ANY SYMPTOMS"

In his statement, Çenet said, "A photo I took previously is being presented as if it were taken after May 2. On the date I attended the wedding, the hantavirus outbreak had not yet been announced by the World Health Organization. From the moment the information was shared, I have been in quarantine as a precaution. I still do not show any symptoms."
