With the arrival of the month of Ramadan, employees are wondering how many days the holiday will be. Those preparing to plan their annual leave in advance will make their reservation arrangements based on the duration of the holiday. Since religious days are calculated according to the Hijri calendar, they fall on different dates compared to the previous year. This year, the holiday will begin earlier than last year.

WHEN IS THE 2024 RAMADAN FEAST?

Last year, the Ramadan Feast was celebrated in the 4th week of April. This year, the Ramadan Feast falls in the 2nd week of April. Since the day before the Ramadan Feast is the eve, it will be considered a half-day. Here is the Ramadan Feast calendar;

HOW MANY DAYS IS THE HOLIDAY?

If Monday, April 8, the first working day before the Ramadan Feast, and the eve are declared administrative leave, the feast holiday will begin on Saturday, April 6, and end on Sunday, April 14. In this case, the holiday will be extended to 9 days.

INSTITUTIONS CLOSED DURING RAMADAN FEAST

The mid-term break in schools coincides with the Ramadan Feast dates this year. For this reason, schools will be closed on the days of the feast. Along with schools, universities will also be on holiday. In addition to schools and universities, banks, pharmacies, the stock exchange, municipalities, district governorships, governorates, notaries, population directorates, and hospitals (excluding emergency services) will also be closed.
