Winter arrived while waiting for summer! 8 provinces in Turkey met with a white blanket

Many provinces in Turkey were met with a surprise of snow today. Snow that fell last night in Muş affected the higher altitudes. Due to the snow, certain sections of the Üçevler Group Village Road, located at an altitude of 2,500 meters where transportation to 10 villages and 21 hamlets is provided, were closed to traffic.

ROAD CLOSED

A minibus with 6 people inside, which set off to go to the Muş city center, got stuck on the road. Upon the report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, a Provincial Special Administration team was dispatched to the region.

The teams that reached the region cleared the road closed by snow with construction equipment and enabled the minibus to continue its journey. On the other hand, due to the ongoing precipitation, the Üçevler Group Village Road was completely closed to traffic.

PALANDÖKEN TURNED WHITE

The downpour, which has been effective intermittently for about 1 week in the center of Erzurum, gave way to snow at the Palandöken Ski Center. In the center, which hosts many domestic and foreign tourists during the winter season, the slopes were covered in white with the falling snow. Some citizens who came to the region, where fog is also effective, took photos.

Citizen Hasan Duymuş said that they went up to Palandöken to take photos.

Stating that the weather has cooled down at the ski center, Duymuş said, "We came from Istanbul for a trip but encountered snow. We met with snow in May, it was nice for us. There is fog and snowfall in the higher parts, it is an unusual situation."

KOCAELİ: SNOW FELL ON THE HIGH ALTITUDES

While downpours were effective in the Kocaeli city center starting from the morning hours today, it snowed in the higher altitudes. The snowfall, which was effective in the Kartepe region, located 1.5 hours away from Istanbul by road, was recorded with a mobile phone camera.

While the snowfall was effective for a short time, a white blanket did not form on the soil and green ground. In Kocaeli, where temperatures are below seasonal norms, the precipitation is expected to decrease in intensity as of tonight.

BOLU

In Bolu, the downpour that started in the morning hours in the Kartalkaya, Aladağ, Sarıalan, and Yedigöller regions at the 2,200-meter summit of Köroğlu Mountain gave way to snowfall. Some areas in the region, where the precipitation was effective intermittently, were covered with a white blanket.

DÜZCE

Snowfall was also effective in the middle of May at the Kardüz Plateau, which has an altitude of 1,830 meters in the Gölyaka district of Düzce. In the plateau, 40 kilometers away from the district, green areas and trees remained under snow.

SAKARYA

Snowfall also dominated the Dikmen Plateau, which has an altitude of 1,725 meters in the Hendek district of Sakarya. A dense layer of fog formed after the precipitation.

KARABÜK

In Karabük, the downpour that started in the morning at the 2,000-meter altitude Keltepe Ski Center gave way to snow. In the center, where the air temperature was measured as a maximum of 11 degrees and a minimum of minus 2 degrees, the precipitation is expected to continue intermittently.

The downpour, which was effective throughout the province, gave way to snow in the higher parts of the Yapraklı, Ilgaz, and Çerkeş districts.
