The 17th International Istanbul Opera and Ballet Festival, organized by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, opened a door to the depths of history with the unifying power of art. The "Women of the Golden Age" concert, held at the Kadıköy Municipality Süreyya Opera House, reflected the memorable female figures of the ancient world onto the stage, accompanied by distinguished works. The life stories of female characters who represent love, wisdom, and courage were conveyed to the audience through notes reflecting the aesthetic spirit of the era.

A HISTORICAL FEAST WITH MASTER NAMES AND A SPECIAL REPERTOIRE

The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Italian conductor Giulio Prandi, wove the musical texture of the night with great mastery. In the program, accompanied by Paolo Villa on the harpsichord, works by names that shaped music history such as Handel, Vivaldi, Purcell, Monteverdi, Gluck, and Rameau were performed. This special selection was recorded as one of the most unique productions of the festival, not just as a concert, but also as a perfect fusion of music and historical narrative.

POWERFUL SOLOISTS BRING ANCIENT HEROINES TO LIFE

The concert's soloists, Ceren Aydın, Esra Çetiner, Otilia İpek, Ayşe Şener, and Esen Demirci, gave voice and spirit to the heroines of the ancient age with their performances. The artists, who drew the audience into a narrative coming from prehistoric times, were applauded for minutes at the end of the night. "Women of the Golden Age" received great interest from art lovers with both its musical depth and its structure that centers on the power of female figures.
