16-year-old Hiranur dies after being shot with a handgun

The incident occurred yesterday evening in the Akbelen neighborhood of the central Toroslar district. According to allegations, 16-year-old Hiranur Nilgün A. was shot with a handgun inside a parked car.

One of the individuals in the vehicle reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, medical teams determined that Hiranur had lost her life.

Police detained Hiranur's friend A.Ş. (19), who claimed the gun went off when he pulled the trigger thinking it was empty as a joke, along with N.Ç. and M.Z., who were also in the vehicle.

While the suspect's processing at the police station continues, Hiranur's funeral was held at the Güneykent Cemetery. Following the funeral, some of Hiranur's relatives went to the address where the suspect A.Ş.'s house is located in the evening. Thanks to the precautions taken by the police in advance, no negative incidents occurred at the location. The crowd, which protested by chanting slogans for a while, later dispersed from the area following warnings from the police.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
