29-year-old woman dies in motorcycle accident in Fethiye
29-year-old Merve Sönmez, who was critically injured in a collision between her motorcycle and a car in the Fethiye district of Muğla, has passed away in the hospital where she was receiving treatment.
In a traffic accident that occurred 5 days ago in Fethiye's Yeşilüzümlü neighborhood, a motorcycle with license plate 48 ATF 369, driven by 29-year-old Merve Sönmez, collided with a car with license plate 07 SDB 70. Due to the impact of the collision, the motorcycle rider Sönmez was thrown to the ground and critically injured.
Emergency medical teams called to the scene rushed Sönmez to Fethiye State Hospital. The young woman, who was fighting for her life in the intensive care unit, passed away today after a days-long struggle. Sönmez's death has left her loved ones and the local community in mourning.
The driver of the car was taken into custody following the accident. While it is understood that the investigation is ongoing, the tragedy has been met with great sorrow throughout the region.
