400 people hospitalized in Konya: Cause under investigation

Following the chicken doner incident in Kocaeli, approximately 400 people in the Sarayönü district of Konya have sought medical attention with complaints of vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. ALLEGATIONS OF SEWAGE CONTAMINATION IN DRINKING WATER

While allegations have emerged that sewage has mixed with the drinking water in the district, a statement issued by the District Governorate noted that a large number of citizens applied to healthcare facilities yesterday with complaints of diarrhea, fever, nausea, and vomiting.

The statement emphasized that the rapid increase in cases has caused great concern in the district and stated that authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.

WATER SAMPLES TAKEN, ANALYSIS CONDUCTED

A statement made on the social media account of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality KOSKİ General Directorate included the following:

'Following social media posts regarding the cases of diarrhea and vomiting seen in our Sarayönü district, water samples have been taken separately by the Ministry of Health and our KOSKİ teams. As a result of all analyses conducted, no irregularities have been found in our drinking water. The cases experienced have no connection to the drinking water. Respectfully announced to the public.'
