42 draft evaders apprehended in Istanbul
In a large-scale public order operation conducted by police in Istanbul's Fatih district, 42 individuals wanted for violating the "Military Penal Code" were apprehended. During the operations, which involved the questioning of 844 suspects across the district, 9 irregular migrants were processed for deportation.
According to information obtained, a large-scale operation was carried out across the district by the Fatih District Police Department, along with the district's motorcycle police units (yunus) and patrol teams, as part of the "Turkey Trust and Peace Operation."
In the two-stage operation held yesterday in Kumkapı, one of Fatih's crowded neighborhoods, entertainment venues, abandoned buildings, and streets were thoroughly searched.

As a result of the efforts, 844 suspects were questioned, and among these individuals, 42 draft evaders, 1 wanted person, and 9 irregular migrants were apprehended.
While the necessary investigation procedures regarding the aforementioned draft evaders have been initiated, it was learned that the 9 irregular migrants, who were determined to have entered the country illegally, were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for deportation.
