5-day ban on demonstrations and events in Bursa

A 5-day ban on protests has been imposed in Bursa. The ban, which began at 00:01 on June 23, 2025, will remain in effect until 23:59 on June 27, 2025.

Within this scope, all demonstrations and events in the city have been prohibited.

In a statement issued by the Bursa Governor's Office, it was noted that the decision was based on Article 11 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 17 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911.

It was stated that the decision was taken for the purpose of “preventing the disruption of public order, preventing situations that could harm national, conscientious, and humanitarian values, protecting social peace, and preventing provocative incidents.”

The statement from the Governor's Office included the following: "Throughout our province; all kinds of actions and events such as marches, meetings, sit-ins, activities, and the formation of human chains in parks and gardens, on public roads, in front of public buildings, in front of non-governmental organizations, and in public indoor and outdoor areas have been banned for a period of 5 (five) days from 00:01 on June 23, 2025, to 23:59 on June 27, 2025."

The Governor's Office did not share detailed information regarding the justification for the ban.
