Allegations that a woman had her husband murdered after planning with her lover of 20 years

The incident occurred on Friday, May 9, at approximately 21:30 in the Çobançeşme neighborhood of Bahçelievler. According to allegations, Hüseyin Veznedar (54) was subjected to an armed attack by a person who had placed a white plastic bag over his head while he was waiting on the street where his home is located. The assailant fired 8 shots with a handgun at the scene. Veznedar, who was seriously injured in the attack, lost his life despite all interventions at the hospital to which he was taken. Following the murder, police teams launched a wide-ranging investigation into the incident and identified the assailant as Ufuk A. (44).

MURDER SUSPECT BROUGHT HIS LOVER TO THE SCENE

Deepening their investigation, police teams learned that Zahide Veznedar (47) had brought Ufuk A. in her vehicle and dropped him off 200-300 meters away from the scene. It was determined that the armed attack took place while Zahide Veznedar had parked her vehicle and Hüseyin Veznedar was waiting on the street. Security camera footage captured Zahide Veznedar meeting with Ufuk A. shortly before the incident, after which the suspect walked to the scene alone. Additionally, security cameras recorded the moments when Ufuk A. placed a white plastic bag over his head and fled the street in the same manner after committing the murder.

REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE

In an operation conducted by the Public Security Branch's Murder Bureau, Ufuk A. was apprehended at the hotel where he was staying in Bursa, along with an unlicensed handgun. Zahide Veznedar, who was quickly apprehended by police teams, was referred to the courthouse after her procedures at the police station were completed and was subsequently arrested by the court and sent to prison. Ufuk A., who was determined to have a total of 7 criminal records, including 4 for assault, was referred to the courthouse following his procedures at the Istanbul Public Security Branch Directorate.

In her statement, Zahide Veznedar, who claimed to have a romantic relationship with Ufuk A. dating back nearly 20 years, reportedly said, "I have been married since 2012, and we have an 11-year-old daughter. I could no longer bear to look at my husband's face. We met on the day of the incident, but I did not anticipate that he would do such a thing. I called my husband and asked him to come outside. My husband got out to get something from the vehicle, and at that moment, I heard gunshots. Then I saw the suspect fleeing with a white plastic bag over his head."

"I WENT TO TALK, HE PULLED A GUN"

Murder suspect Ufuk A., in his statement, reportedly said, "I met the woman on social media. She said she was being subjected to violence by her husband. I went to see her to talk about the situation. Her husband pulled a gun on me. I took it from his hand and fired."
