Armed harassment at mayor's home

According to information obtained, an individual came to the home of Bülent Kara, who won the mayoral election according to unofficial results, in the Yeni neighborhood, fired shots into the air with a firearm, and called for Kara to come outside.

Police teams arrived at the scene following a report and took E.K. into custody.

Bülent Kara, who went to the police station after the incident to file a complaint against the armed individual, stated, “We experienced a terrifying incident this evening. An individual fired shots with a firearm in front of our home; thank God no one was harmed.

We do not know who incited this, but our security forces intervened in the incident quickly and took the individual into custody. From here on, it is in the hands of the security and judicial authorities.”

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
