The Çorlu district of Tekirdağ was shaken by an armed attack that took place around noon. Two police officers were martyred after fire was opened on police teams who went to the scene following a report of an armed fight. The attacker, who was wounded in the clash, was captured during the operation.

Security camera footage and mobile phone recordings of the incident have also emerged.

CITIZENS ATTEMPTED TO ATTACK THE SUSPECT

In the footage reflected on the security camera of a nearby business, it was seen that the police teams called on the armed suspect to surrender. The footage shows the moments when the suspect dropped his weapon to the ground and was then neutralized by police teams who pinned him to the ground.

After the suspect was neutralized, citizens gathered in the vicinity were seen rushing to the area. In the footage captured by mobile phone cameras, it was seen that some citizens wanted to attack the suspect, while police teams tried to hold back the crowd.

POLICE RESPONDING TO ARMED FIGHT REPORT FIRED UPON

The incident occurred around 13:30 on the 3rd floor of a 6-story business center located at the Gölcük Square area on Kumyol Street in the Reşadiye neighborhood of Çorlu district.

Plainclothes police teams serving at the Çorlu District Police Department's Public Security Bureau were dispatched to the area following a report of an armed fight at the address.

Fire was opened by the suspect O.A. on the police teams who went up to the building. Police officers Erkan Tütüncüler and Emrah Koç were seriously wounded in the initial gunfire.

Upon the report, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that the two police officers had been martyred.

ATTACKER CAPTURED WOUNDED

In the clash between the police teams and the suspect, the suspect O.A. was captured wounded. The attacker, who was taken into custody, was taken to the police station after a health check.
