Beauty center scandal in Adana: Employees loot the workplace

A remarkable incident occurred in the morning hours at a beauty salon located in a shopping mall in the Seyhan district of Adana. According to allegations, S.Ç., the owner of the beauty center which has three branches in the city, sold service packages to customers below market value while failing to pay employees' salaries for five months. Furthermore, it is claimed that S.Ç. took out loans from banks and tradesmen cooperatives and fled abroad without paying debts to suppliers.

Following these developments, employees went to the branch in the shopping mall early in the morning and, in lieu of their unpaid wages, loaded items such as devices, computers, paintings, flower pots, and furniture from the workplace into their vehicles and took them away.

POLICE INTERVENTION AND INVESTIGATION

During the incident, some female employees attacked members of the press, causing tension. Police teams arriving at the scene upon notification removed the looters and brought the situation under control.

The tension subsided with the intervention of citizens in the vicinity. The employees stated that they had been defrauded and announced that they would file a criminal complaint against S.Ç. It was reported that similar looting incidents occurred at other branches, and an investigation into the matter has been initiated.
