Ceiling collapses at Istanbul shopping mall
One person was injured after a ceiling collapse on the food court floor of a shopping mall in Beylikdüzü.
A suspended ceiling collapsed on the food court floor of a shopping mall on Sakarya Caddesi in Barış Mahallesi, Beylikdüzü district, Istanbul, causing widespread panic among customers.
One person was injured when a piece of metal fell on their head during the incident. Police, medical, and fire crews rushed to the scene after the incident was reported.
While police units took security measures in the surrounding area, medical teams carried out initial treatment of the injured person at the scene.
The injured person was subsequently transferred to Büyükçekmece Mimar Sinan State Hospital. The food court floor was temporarily closed on safety grounds. Police launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
