Child marriage scandal in Samsun!

14-year-old O.Ç., who lives in the 200 Evler neighborhood of Samsun's Canik district, filed a complaint alleging that her 16-year-old fiancé, H.H.E., had forcibly taken her ring. The girl stated that following an engagement ceremony held between the families about a month ago, she had planned to marry H.H.E. on October 8. However, it is alleged that during wedding preparations, H.H.E. forcibly took the ring from his fiancée's finger.

POLICE INTERVENED IN THE INCIDENT

Following the incident, teams from the Samsun Police Department's Juvenile Branch took action. H.H.E. was taken into custody upon the complaint and claimed in his police statement that he did not take the ring by force, but only asked for it "to buy a groom's suit." After completing his procedures at the police station, H.H.E. was referred to the Samsun Courthouse.

COURT ISSUED ARREST WARRANT

Following his interrogation by the prosecutor at the Samsun Courthouse, H.H.E. was brought before the court. The court ordered the suspect's arrest and sent him to prison. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
