Club president passes away after suffering heart attack while watching match
Akmescitspor President Ömer Şen, who suffered a heart attack during the match between Akmescitspor and Hamzabeylispor in the Manisa 1st Amateur League, has passed away at the hospital where he was taken.
Ömer Şen, a veteran of amateur football who had supported the sport in Manisa for years and also served as a neighborhood headman (muhtar), has passed away.
In the 33rd minute of the Manisa 1st Amateur League match between Akmescitspor and Hamzabeylispor, Akmescitspor President Ömer Şen suffered a heart attack.
Taken to 8 Eylül Hospital, Ömer Şen could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.
The news of Şen's death caused great sadness in Manisa, especially among amateur sports clubs.
Following the news of club president Şen's death, the match was abandoned while the score was 0-0.
