Downpour puts Ankara on high alert: 'Approached 70 kilograms level'
Spring rains have hit Ankara. Streets and underpasses were left underwater. The Metropolitan Municipality announced that the rainfall reached the level of 70 kilograms per square meter.
The thunderstorm that was effective in the evening hours negatively affected daily life. The heavy rainfall led to flooding in some parts of the city.
Citizens in Keçiören experienced difficult moments due to floodwaters.

Heavy water accumulation occurred on many streets and avenues in the district, vehicles were stranded on the road, and homes and workplaces were left underwater.
While flooding also occurred in Sincan and Yenimahalle, the downpour caused power outages in some neighborhoods.

Some citizens affected by the downpour took shelter in bus stops and subway stations, while the Beşevler metro station was also flooded, leaving passengers stranded in the station for a while.

Due to water accumulation in some underpasses, police teams closed entrances and exits to take security measures, and traffic was diverted to side roads. Some vehicles stranded on the roads were removed with the help of tow trucks.

Due to the effective downpour, numerous reports were made to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center.

Some citizens drained water from their homes using their own means.

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) reported that the amount of sudden rainfall in the city has approached the 70-kilogram level so far.

In the statement made by ABB, it was stated, "We are continuing our work on high alert with 1,444 vehicles and 2,441 personnel to minimize the negative effects of the heavy downpour.
