Earthquake survivor student who took the governor's seat: I don't want buildings to be tall

Osmaniye Governor Erdinç Yılmaz symbolically handed over his office to Eylül Nacar, a 1/A grade student at Cebelibereket Şehit Ahmet Yılmaz Primary School, for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day. The visit was attended by Provincial Director of National Education Aydın Albak, Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Mulla Katık, Cebelibereket Şehit Ahmet Yılmaz Primary School Principal Dilşat Davarcı, teacher Züleyha Çolak, and Eylül's mother Selin Nacar and father Mustafa Nacar.

When asked by Governor Yılmaz what her priority goal for Osmaniye would be, Eylül Nacar said, “I don't want buildings to be very tall. As children, we were deeply affected by the massive earthquake we experienced, so we no longer want buildings to be tall. I also want buildings to be sturdy, and for there to be more green spaces and parks. We children want bicycle paths.”

Calling Osmaniye Mayor İbrahim Çenet on the phone, Eylül conveyed her requests to Mayor Çenet regarding the need for buildings not to be tall, and for more green spaces, parks, and bicycle paths. At the end of the visit, Eylül Nacar said that being Governor was a wonderful feeling for her and that she was very happy about it.
