According to the information obtained, a fire broke out at around 16:00 yesterday in the forest in the Pazaryeri neighborhood of Kışla village, located in the Ovacık district. The fire was brought under control in 22 hours following the intensive intervention of numerous teams dispatched to the region. About 1.5 hours later, the fire reignited in the same area due to the effect of the wind and began to move toward the residential area.

Upon notification of the situation, numerous water tenders, fire trucks, and construction equipment were dispatched to the region. For security reasons, the citizens living in the village were evacuated and directed to safe areas. Due to the darkness, the intervention against the fire continues from the ground.

On the other hand, village headman Sıdkı Par stated that the statements attributed to him in some local news outlets were not his own, and that he did not know whether the individual caught while intoxicated had any connection to the fire.
