Fire at Kipaş Paper Factory spirals out of control again

While extinguishing efforts continue with the support of reinforcement teams from surrounding provinces as well as Aydın, the flames rising from the fire, which intensified again at midnight, lit up the night.

The fire, which started for an unknown reason in the evening in the area where waste paper is stored in the recycling section of the Söke Kipaş Paper Factory, had been brought under control at night with aerial and ground intervention by the teams.

Ground interventions continue to extinguish the fire, which went out of control again as the wind intensified at midnight. In addition to fire department and forestry teams, AFAD, UMKE, and riot control vehicles (TOMA) are also responding to the fire.

MATERIAL DAMAGE HAS REACHED SERIOUS DIMENSIONS

Fire departments from the Muğla, Manisa, Antalya, and Denizli Metropolitan Municipalities also sent teams to support the extinguishing efforts, which are continuing with the vehicles of the Aydın Metropolitan and district municipalities as well as tankers from some private companies.

While the efforts to extinguish the fire are being managed by a crisis center established on-site, it has been learned that the material damage caused has reached serious dimensions as of now.

The teams' struggle to extinguish the fire, which has been ongoing for hours, continues.
