Footage of baby found in trash in Avcılar emerges
While the woman who left a newborn baby with its umbilical cord still attached in a trash container in Avcılar has been taken into custody, security camera footage of the moment the baby was abandoned has emerged.
In an incident that occurred yesterday in the Gümüşpala neighborhood of Avcılar, a woman collecting paper saw a baby lying motionless inside a trash container.
According to a report by Ekoltv, police and medical teams arrived at the scene following the report and determined that the baby was dead.
An examination of the baby's body revealed that it was a newborn, male, and still had its umbilical cord attached, prompting police to launch a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
While the woman who abandoned the baby was apprehended shortly after, footage of the baby, who was found in the trash in Avcılar, Istanbul, and taken to the hospital for treatment, has emerged.
ARRESTED
As a result of the police teams' efforts, it was determined that the individual who left her newborn baby in the trash container was a woman named Y.F.Ş. Y.F.Ş. was caught by police teams at her home and taken into custody.
It was learned that the woman, who had become pregnant out of wedlock, had hidden her pregnancy from her family and, after giving birth in the bathroom of her home, put the baby in a bag and threw it into the trash container out of fear of her family's reaction.
After completing her procedures at the police station, the woman named Y.F.Ş. was referred to judicial authorities and was arrested on charges of "attempted intentional homicide" and sent to prison.
